Plautilla, Augusta, 202-205. Denarius (Silver, 20 mm, 3.53 g, 12 h), Rome. PLAVTILLA AVGVSTA Draped bust of Plautilla to right. Rev. VENVS VICTRIX Venus, bare to waist, standing front, head to left, holding apple in her right hand and palm branch with her left, resting her left elbow on shield set on ground; to left, cupid, standing front, head to left, holding uncertain object (helmet?) with his hands. BMC 429. Cohen 25. RIC 369. Beautiful golden toning. Struck on a slightly irregular flan, otherwise, about extremely fine.

From an old Swiss collection, acquired in the 1960s to 1970s from Bank Leu.
